70 Mr. Yates asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if additional resources will be allocated toward the community enterprise initiative scheme to ensure that the maximum number of applications are approved. [21914/99]
The new community enterprise centre programme which I announced last July is administered by Enterprise Ireland and operates in parallel with the existing programme which has supported the development of enterprise centres nationally since 1989.
A sum of £8 million has been allocated to the new programme for 1999 and a further £5.5 million for 2000. I understand that Enterprise Ireland hope to issue a call for proposals in respect of the 2000 allocation at the end of this month. I have no plans to provide additional resources to the programme.
