72 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the position in relation to the provision of a breakwater and ancillary works for Greencastle Harbour, County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21913/99]
Arrangements are being made for the carrying out of a numerical modelling study of wave disturbance and tidal current characteristics in Greencastle Harbour to facilitate consideration of proposals for the provision of a breakwater. The results of the study will inform any decisions to be made on the location, orientation and design of a breakwater.
Tenders for the study will be sought shortly. I expect the work to commence before the end of this year and to be completed early in 2000.
