John Perry
Ceist:261 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the disparity between health boards in the delivery of treatment to people with diabetes who suffer from hypertension and hypercholesterolaemia as a result of diabetes; the plans, if any, he has to allow free medication to control these conditions in view of the fact that in recent years it has become clear that patients with diabetes particularly benefit from good control of blood pressure and cholesterol level which are part of the diabetes syndrome and have been proven to prevent the early damage to arteries; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
