Vol. 510 No. 3

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

379 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of queries received by the Land Registry Office for County Limerick for 1998 and from January to 31 October 1999; and the average length of time involved in processing an application. [22631/99]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that records of queries received by the Land Registry for County Limerick are not maintained.

I can inform the Deputy, however, that the average waiting time for processing applications for registration in Limerick is 26 weeks. The average time for processing an application for registration which is in order and does not require mapping is two to three weeks. The average time to process an application for a copy file plan map is 24 hours where the application is made at the public counter, which represents over 50 per cent of all cases, and two to three weeks where the application is made by post, unless a specific difficulty arises.
