118 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps, if any, he will take to ensure that a person (details supplied) in County Longford is immediately admitted to Beaumont Hospital, Dublin 5, for a neurological procedure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23813/99]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of Beaumont Hospital in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
