249 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if sufficient funds are available to the Y2K second level schools capital building programme to meet the requirements set out by the school authorities in respect of VEC schools in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has recently received a request from County Kildare VEC for additional funding in relation to Y2K related demands. The request is currently being given full consideration and my Department will revert directly to the VEC in the near future.
