John Gormley
Ceist:685 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a person (details supplied) was refused a visa; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1828/00]
Vol. 513 No. 1
685 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reason a person (details supplied) was refused a visa; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1828/00]
The visa application in question was refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of a visit visa.
It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal of the visa by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department together with any further information or documentation in support of the application.
686 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider the appeal against the refusal of a visa application for the wife and children of a person (details supplied) who was recruited to work in Ireland to meet a skills shortage; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the company which sponsored his recruitment obtained the clear impression that his wife and two children would be allowed to come and live with him; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1829/00]
I am having the matter referred to by the Deputy in his question reviewed and I will advise him of the outcome of this review shortly.
