Ceist:773 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress to date on the application for a care assistant in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [1767/00]

As I indicated in my reply to the Deputy on 16 December 1999, this matter had only recently come to my Department's attention. The matter is being investigated by my Department's inspectorate, with a view to securing a suitable school placement for the child in question.
I have asked the inspectorate to expedite its examination of this matter so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
