Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Sargent – the danger that the road plans for Glen of the Downs will seriously threaten the water table of the glen; (2) Deputy Michael Moynihan – the provisions by Eircom of the proper telecommunication infrastructure in the area prefix 029-76 in view of the difficulties encountered by subscribers in this area accessing the Internet; (3) Deputy Durkan – the reduction in the rate of old age pension payable to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; (4) Deputy Hayes – the need for the urgent transfer from Beaumont Hospital to Tallaght Hospital of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; (5) Deputy Neville – the need for proper accommodation at the primary school in Kilfinane, County Limerick; (6) Deputy Seán Ryan – the need for an independent authority to maintain and enforce safety standards in all aspects of air transport, with particular reference to the further deregulation of ground handling at airports; (7) Deputy Creed – the urgent need for approval of additional classroom accommodation at St. Colman's boys' national school, Macroom; (8) Deputy Perry – the need for a planned property programme to be put in place for the six Border counties and, in particular, the Sligo-Leitrim area; (9) Deputy Ring – the cancellation on a number of occasions of prostate surgery for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo; (10) Deputy Michael Kitt – the issue of the application by students for higher grants where the application forms have been referred by the Department of Education and Science to the Attorney General's office; (11) Deputy Fitzgerald – the current status and publication date of the White Paper on Defence; (12) Deputy Quinn – the need for the Minister for Finance to meet the Irish League of Credit Unions in advance of the enactment of the Finance Bill, 2000; (13) Deputy Upton – the urgent need for the Minister for Education and Science to create extra third level places to allow apprentices to complete their training within a reasonable timeframe; (14) Deputy Ulick Burke – the need to approve funding for the extension and refurbishment of and provision of off road parking at Kiltiernan national school, County Galway; (15) Deputy Coveney – the need for the provision of an addiction treatment half way house facility for a person in the Cork city area.

The matters raised by Deputies Quinn, Ring, Sargent and Creed have been selected for discussion.
