166 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the administrative workload on adult education organisers; and if he has submitted a request to the Department of Finance for sanction for the employment of secretarial assistance for these officers. Each vocational education committee receives an administrative staffing allocation from my Department to be deployed in the best manner possible to meet the needs of the committee's schools and other needs, including the adult education service.
Provision has been included in the committees' annual literacy budgets to enable them to pay for secretarial assistance.
