Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Ulick Burke – the need to approve funding for the extension and refur bishment and provision of off road parking at Kiltiernan national school, County Galway; (2) Deputy Neville – the need for proper accommodation at the primary school at Kilfinane, County Limerick; (3) Deputy Deasy – the need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to address the need to save the jobs under threat in the Ray Ban division of the Luxottica plant in Waterford; (4) Deputy Shatter – the need to keep the national disease surveillance centre in Dublin rather than transferring it to Tullamore; (5) Deputy Ring – the need to review the fees paid to those employed by the health boards who derive their incomes from fees for registrations and issuing certificates; (6) Deputy Broughan – the need to ensure that major funding is provided for local sports and youth clubs including Dublin's deprived areas; (7) Deputy Upton – the urgent need for the Minister for Education and Science to create extra third level places to allow apprentices to complete their training within a reasonable time frame; (8) Deputy Gregory – the recent serious developments in the drugs problem in Dublin causing concern to local communities; (9) Deputy Durkan – the reduction in the rate of old age pension payable to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; (10) Deputy McGennis – the need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to initiate an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of a person (details supplied) in London; (11) Deputy Jim Higgins – the dramatic upsurge in violence which has led to the murder of three people over a 72 hour period.

The matters raised by Deputies Deasy, Durkan, Jim Higgins and Broughan have been selected for discussion.
