Vol. 513 No. 6

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

412 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will investigate the urgent need for speech therapy in the interest of the satisfactory education of pupils attending Mother of Fair Love school, Kilkenny; if this service will be made available as soon as possible; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3038/00]

The provision of speech therapy services is the responsibility of the relevant health authority. My Department has not received representations from the school in question in relation to speech therapy services for children attending the school. I will arrange to have the matter raised by the Deputy investigated by my Department's inspectorate in consultation with the relevant health authority.
