Ceist:

64 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has satisfied herself that any of the recent electricity power cuts which householders and areas have experienced are entirely due to technical faults and not partly related to power generation capacity limitations relative to peak demands; and if her Department will investigate the matter and these incidents. Minister for Public Enterprise (Mrs. O'Rourke):

The ESB has informed my Department that recent power cuts which occurred in the Dublin area were in no way related to power generation capacity, but were due to technical faults.

Even though the supply of electricity is a day-to-day operational matter for the board and management of the ESB, I will ask the chief technical adviser to my Department to keep the situation under review.
