142 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of lottery funds allocated by his Department in 1999; the recipient organisations; and the amount received. [4476/00]

I wish to inform the Deputy that my Department had a total of £9.169 million – £2 million capital and £7.169 million non-capital – national lottery funding available in 1999. The capital allocation of £2 million formed part of the overall funding of the capital programme. The sum of £4.582 million of the non-capital allocation was committed to fund ongoing services, grant schemes for respite care and voluntary organisations and the block allocations to health boards. The balance of £2.587 million was available for discretionary grants. The breakdown of this funding is detailed in the following tables:
