Vol. 514 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

139 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the non-payment of cattle headage to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [4713/00]

The person named applied on 20 cows under the 1999 cattle headage scheme and the 1999 suckler cow premium scheme. One of the animals applied on, was a male animal and the person named was advised by letter of 15 September 1999 that no payment would be made on this animal and that the remaining eligible animals would be paid at a reduced rate. The person named appealed this decision to the headage and premia appeals unit and following re-examination, the decision was upheld. He was notified accordingly by letter of 10 February 2000.

Payment of his entitlements under both schemes, as set out in my Department's letter of 15 September 1999 will issue to him within the next seven days.
