Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 21 and the name of the member in each case: (1) Deputy Perry – the need for funding to be made available to Kilmactranny national school, Boyle, County Sligo, for structural and school ground improvements; (2) Deputy Upton – the urgent steps needed to be taken to give access to apprentices for the third level part of their training; (3) Deputy Donal Carey – the criteria being used for the allocation of funds under the sports capital programme; (4) Deputy Ring – the future development of a designated breast care clinic at Mayo General Hospital; (5) Deputy Keaveney – the need for a pilot project in County Donegal to research further the issues relating to radon, given the high concentrations in parts of the country; (6) Deputy Kenny – the need to take appropriate action to prevent the downgrading of Mayo General Hospital on foot of a consultants' report that breast cancer examinations and operations be withdrawn from the hospital; (7) Deputy Deenihan – the need to repair and make safe Ballybunion Castle, County Kerry; (8) Deputy Browne (Wexford)– the closure of Wennas clothing company, Enniscorthy, with the loss of 50 jobs; (9) Deputy Shatter – the continuing failure of the Department of Health and Children to provide secure accommodation to meet the special needs of seriously disturbed children who cannot be cared for at home; (10) Deputy Flanagan – the case of an 11 year old boy (details supplied) from County Laois awaiting heart surgery for over two years; (11) Deputy Finucane – the urgent need to replace both buses serving Ballyagran primary school in County Limerick in view of the concern of parents as to their safety and unreliability; (12) Deputy Coveney – the need for the Government to respond to the fact that many young people are using recreational drugs, particularly ecstasy tablets; (13) Deputy Ellis – the need to establish a district veterinary office in County Leitrim; (14) Deputy Shortall – the urgent need to reform the disabled drivers and passengers tax concession scheme in order to include persons with severe disabilities not currently covered by the scheme.

The matters raised by Deputies Shortall, Kenny, Donal Carey and Finucane have been selected for discussion.
