Vol. 516 No. 5

Written Answers. - Labour Market Programmes.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Ceist:

105 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when the planned overall appraisal of active labour market programmes will be carried out; the individuals by whom it will be undertaken; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [8018/00]

The Programme for Prosperity and Fairness refers to a proposal for an overall appraisal of active labour market programmes. On the assumption that the programme is ratified, the review will be carried out under the aegis of the programme with the involvement of the social partners and the relevant Departments and agencies. Active labour programmes operated by my Department and its agencies are regularly reviewed and I would draw your attention to recent appraisals of the community employment programme and the jobs initiative programme in that regard.
