The Government in nominating persons to the central council takes into account the overall qualifications of the individuals nominated to this important body.
The Government carefully considers and nominates persons to the Central Council of the Irish Red Cross Society who it deems will make a positive contribution to the affairs of the society. The term of office of Government nominees to the central council of the Irish Red Cross Society expires on 30 April 2000.
Nominations are usually made towards the end of April in a nomination year.
