191 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the additional material costs incurred by student teachers in St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra, Dublin; if he will introduce grants in this regard and if he will make a statement on the matter. Officials of my Department have had discussions recently with representatives of the Union of Students in Ireland on a number of issues, including the cost of materials for certain third level courses. My officials are currently examining the general question of materials costs incurred by students with a view to identifying the issues and costs involved.
