63 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the progress, if any, made in relation to the reopening of the rail link to Midleton, County Cork; the status of the study under way on the matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9152/00]
CIE has commissioned Ove Arup and Partners, consulting engineers, to carry out a strategic review of railway commuter services in Dublin and Cork. I understand that work on the Cork element of the study is due to be completed by the end of April. Among other things, the study will examine the potential for reopening the Cork to Midleton rail line.
