Vol. 517 No. 1

Written Answers. - Teleworking Scheme.

John Bruton

Ceist:

128 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when he will introduce teleworking operations into the mainstream public service employments under his aegis in accordance with the commitment given by the Government in its Programme for Prosperity and Fairness; and if he will make a statement on the changes required in each of the agencies under his aegis to fulfil this commitment by the Government. [9280/00]

The question of teleworking in the Civil Service is, in the first place, a matter for the Minister for Finance.

Its introduction in the agencies under the aegis of my Department is an operational matter for these bodies and I have no responsibility for their day to day operations.
