Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science the position on a request from a school (details supplied) in Dublin 11 for a security fence at the front of school; if approval has been granted; if design work is in progress; when planning permission will be sought; and when work will be carried out. My Department has approved a grant for the provision of security fencing at the school in question. Further details will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.

An application from the management authorities of the school in question is being dealt with as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department.
