179 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the derogation, if any, sought from the EU conditions on the maximum hours to be worked by non-consultant hospital doctors; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9544/00]

As the EU directive on working time, which will affect the working hours of non-consultant hospital doctors, has yet to be adopted, the issue of seeking any derogation from its terms does not arise.
