307 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress made to date in the construction of Knocklyon post primary school; and if he will confirm that the school will be open for pupils for the school year commencing September 2000. [9781/00]

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the contract for the construction of a new second level school at Knocklyon was placed in December 1999. Construction of the new school is under away.

It is planned that the building will open for pupils in September.
