Vol. 517 No. 6

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Status.

Ceist:

404 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will take account, in the allocation of teaching resources, of the particular needs of a school (details supplied) in terms of its disadvantaged status and its willingness to accept children of asylum seekers. [10577/00]

The principal of the school to which the Deputy refers has recently made a submission to my Department in relation to the anticipated staffing needs of the school for the coming school year. This, along with submissions from other schools, is being examined at present in my Department and a decision on the allocation of teaching resources to the school will be made shortly.
