A numerical modelling study of wave disturbance and tidal current characteristics in Greencastle harbour is being carried out and is due to be completed mid-year. The results of this analysis will inform decisions on a strategy for provision of new or improved facilities at the harbour.

Ceist:94 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources when works are expected to be completed on a pier (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11646/00]
Under the fishery harbours development programme for 2000, I have approved financial assistance for Donegal County Council for improvement works at the pier in question costing £470,000. The local authority has advised that the work is expected to commence in August and to be completed by March 2001.
