Vol. 518 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Doctors.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

179 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of ENT consultants in the Mater Hospital; the number of patients waiting for an appointment; the number of patients seen per day; the cost per annum of the ENT department; the number of hours per week given by each consultant in the ENT department to public patients; his views on the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 17 who, on 18 February 2000, was given an appointment for 30 May 2001 with the ENT out-patients department of the Mater Hospital; the plans, if any, he has to reduce this list; and if he will get an early appointment for this person. [12000/00]

The matter raised by the Deputy became the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority on 1 March 2000. I have therefore asked the regional chief executive officer to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
