Vol. 518 No. 4

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Deirdre Clune

Ceist:

253 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Education and Science when a school (details supplied) in County Cork will receive funding to support the commitment made by his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11879/00]

I take it the Deputy is referring to the provision of a general purposes room to be shared by two primary schools at the location in question.

My Department is currently making arrangements to acquire a site for the facility intended to cater for the two schools. Until the site has been acquired and construction of the building starts, the question of funding does not arise. At this stage, it is not possible to say when construction will commence.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

254 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science when approval for the invitation of tenders for the proposed extensions to St. Declan's community college, Kilmacthomas, County Waterford, will be granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11880/00]

The extension project at St Declan's community college is progressing through architectural planning.

A revised combined stages 4 and 5 submission encompassing detailed design and bill of quantities has been received in my Department and is currently under consideration.

The question of going to tender will be considered when this combined submission has been approved.
