Written Answers. - Physical Education Halls.
Second level schools that have an enrolment of 450 pupils or more may be provided with a PE hall amounting to 608 m2. This refers solely to the floor area of the actual hall. Ancillary accommodation of 104 m2 may also be provided in addition to the 608 m2 provision.
Schools that have an enrolment of less than 450 pupils may be provided with a PE hall amounting to 406 m2. Again, this refers solely to the floor area of the actual hall. Ancillary accommodation of 104 m2 may also be provided in addition to the 406 m2 provision.
Applications for the provision of a PE hall accommodation for schools with an enrolment below 200 pupils are considered on a case by case basis.
The dimensions of each hall type are set out in appendix A, which follows.
