Ceist:

289 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will consider the location of future further regional colleges in County Kildare in view of the ever increasing needs of industry and an increasing population; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12038/00]

Minister for Education and Science (Dr. Woods):

My Department has no plans at present to develop a regional college in County Kildare.

County Kildare is currently served by institutes of technology at Tallaght, Blancharstown, Carlow and, by the Dublin Institute of Technology.
