331 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps he will take to ensure a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath, who has been waiting for some time to have an operation, is immediately admitted to Tullamore General Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. 337 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will take steps for ensure a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath, who has been waiting for some time to have his tonsils removed, is immediately admitted to Tullamore General Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 331 and 337 together.

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Westmeath is the statutory responsibility of the Midland Health Board in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

332 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be called for urgent surgery. [12805/00]

The responsibility for the provision of services at Tallaght Hospital is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to him as a matter of urgency.
