Vol. 518 No. 6

Written Answers. - Job Applications.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

448 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will have arrangements made for an interview for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for a position (details supplied); the way in which positions of this kind are filled; and if she will have arrangements made to consider late applications in cases where a local industry has closed resulting in job losses at the same time as recruitment by the Office of Public Works. [12602/00]

This person was an unsuccessful applicant for a position in Kilkenny Castle last August. His interest in future vacancies in Kilkenny will be noted. These positions are normally filled by reference to direct applications to my Department and to nominees supplied by FÁS. All positions in Kilkenny Castle are filled, but my Department will be happy to hear from potential applicants for future vacancies – Industrial Personnel Division, Department of Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, 6 Upper Ely Place, Dublin, 2, telephone No. 6473000. Intending applicants should also register their interest in such employment with FÁS. I should add that employment in the Office of Public Works does not come within the remit of my Department.
