451 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the proposals, if any, she has to provide funding for the pier an Dunquin, Dingle, County Kerry; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [12765/00]
The question of funding for Dunquin cannot be separated from the issue of funding to other locations in that general area for, inter alia, fishing and ferry facilities including servicing the Great Blasket island. Future policy has to be considered in the context of the overall demands and priorities on the services of my Department, having full regard to the limited resources available for such purposes. I am not in a position, therefore, to comment on the question of future funding for the pier at Dunquin at this time.
