Smith asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if the concerns of a person (details supplied) in County Longford, expressed through Dúchas and the Office of Public Works to her, will be responded to without further delay; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Glen Lake is a designated special protection area under the EU birds directive and I am, therefore, responsible for the protection of this habitat. I am aware of the issue raised by the Deputy on behalf of this landowner, who asserts that certain works carried out by the Office of Public Works on behalf of my Department have adversely affected a part of her lands. Officials of my Department have met with Office of Public Works officials and the issue is being investigated. My Department has now responded to the landowner's solicitors.
