Vol. 519 No. 5

Written Answers. - Land Ownership.

Charles Flanagan

Ceist:

157 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Finance if, with particular reference to the Office of Public Works, he will make a statement of clarification on the matter of the legal ownership with reference to any appurtenant or associated rights to State agencies or local authority of the lands known as The Great Heath of Maryborough being lands to be north side of Portlaoise in the County of Laois; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14503/00]

The Commissioners of Public Works sought legal advice, through the Chief State Solicitor's office, on the precise nature of the State's title to The Great Heath of Maryborough and are awaiting a response. The local authority has no legal interest in the property.
