Ceist:

303 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if, in relation to the tragic deaths of two young gardaí in Finglas on Monday 15 May 2000, he will report on the reason the gardaí were driving a ten year old car; the status of this car in respect of road worthiness; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have been informed by the Garda authorities that a full investigation into all the circumstances of this tragic accident is under way. I do not propose to comment on specific aspects of the accident before that investigation is completed.
