Vol. 520 No. 1

Written Answers. - Redundancy Payments.

Jack Wall

Ceist:

77 Mr. Wall asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare will be paid her redundancy payments; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [15131/00]

Provided that the person concerned has fulfilled the relevant criteria as per the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967-91, my Department will ensure that she is paid her full statutory redundancy entitlement as soon as possible. At this stage, we have not yet received notification of the redundancy.

In the first instance, she should approach her employer or a person acting on behalf of her employer to obtain direct and prompt payment of the sum due. If she is unsuccessful in this, with her employer being unable or unwilling to pay, she should contact the redundancy payments section of my Department with a view to receiving payment of the statutory redundancy lump sum from the social insurance fund. She can be assured of receiving every assistance in this matter.
