Vol. 520 No. 4

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Liam Lawlor

Ceist:

260 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education and Science if a special school (details supplied) in Dublin 20 is due to receive additional special needs assistant provision in the context of the recommendations of the special education review committee. [16068/00]

My Department is currently reviewing the level of special needs assistant support available in all schools catering for children with special needs, including the school to which the Deputy refers.

The objective is to ensure that all such schools, including the school in question, receive a level of special needs assistant support which is in line with that recommended by the special education review committee.

My Department will be in contact with the authorities at the school in question in relation to this matter in the near future.
