Vol. 520 No. 5

Written Answers. - Vehicle Registration Tax.

Seymour Crawford

Ceist:

118 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Finance if he can verify whether a person (details supplied) in Dublin 8 operates a legitimate car trading business including the importation of cars from the UK; if he has provided the Revenue Commissioners with a change of address; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16302/00]

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that they are not aware that the person referred to by the Deputy operates a car trading business at the address quoted. This premises is let in flats. However, another VAT registered company is authorised by the Revenue Commissioners for vehicle registration tax (VRT) purposes to deal in unregistered cars at a premises to the rear of that address. If the Deputy has any further information on the person referred to in this question he should communicate it to VRT Administration Branch, Office of the Revenue Commissioners, Stamping Building, Dublin Castle, Dublin 2.
