Ceist:

196 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the full extent of the facilities required at St. Patrick's post primary school, Naas, County Kildare; the progress if any in relation to meeting these requirements in the past six months; his proposals to address these issues in early date; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16308/00]

As indicated in reply to parliamentary question No. 294 on 19 April 2000, an application for an extension to St. Patrick's post primary school, Naas, has been received within my Department. Architectural planning of the proposed extension has commenced.

In total, it is planned to provide in excess of 1000m2 of additional accommodation that will include social studies rooms, specialist rooms, PE hall and related accommodation.

197 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science the current position in relation to the provision of further facilities required at Scoil Ingad Ris, Naas, County Kildare; the progress in relation to the provision of these facilities in the past six months; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16309/00]

The managerial authorities of Meánscoil Iognáid Rís have now formally appointed a design team to commence the architectural planning of a proposed extension at this school.
