222 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when a decision will be made in respect of capital funding for a new fire station at Portlaoise; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16346/00]
Contract documents for a proposed new headquarters fire station in Portlaoise have been submitted to my Department by Laois County Council and these are currently under examination. Additional information in respect of this proposal was recently sought from the council and this is awaited. On receipt, a decision will issue to the council as soon as possible.
