263 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide support to Kilkenny VEC County Kilkenny, in respect of the future development of art education at Ormonde College, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17075/00]
The allocation of teachers to vocational education committees – vocational education committees – is made on the basis of the number of recognised pupils enrolled in the schools under the relevant vocational education committees in the previous school year. It is a matter for the individual VEC to decide on the utilisation of teachers and other resources, having regard to the needs of pupils.
