Written Answers. - Dental Services.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

142 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway has not received an appointment for dental treatment from the Western Health Board. [18605/00]

As the provision of dental treatment to eligible persons in County Galway is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board I have asked the chief executive officer of that board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

Dick Spring

Ceist:

143 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Health and Children the support his Department can provide for a person (details supplied) in County Kerry who is in need of occupational and physical therapy in view of the fact no such services are available to her in County Kerry. [18625/00]

The provision of occupational and physical therapy services to school going children in the Kerry region is the responsibility of the Southern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the health board to investigate this matter and reply directly to the Deputy.

Dick Spring

Ceist:

144 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Health and Children the support he can provide for a person (details supplied) in County Kerry who is in need of occupational and physical therapy as at present no such services are available to her in County Kerry. [18633/00]

The provision of health services, including therapy services, to persons with physical or sensory disabilities is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer of the Southern Health Board, with a request that he examine the query and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
