201 Ms Clune asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he will approve the acquisition of a property (details supplied) in County Cork under the Derelict Sites Act, 1990, as requested by Cork Corporation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18790/00]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

Cork Corporation has submitted an application under the Derelict Sites Act, 1990, for my consent to the compulsory acquisition of a site at Well Road, Cork. The application is being processed in my Department at present and I will give my decision on the matter as soon as possible.
