231 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will take steps to appoint a third assistant teacher to a school (details supplied) in County Westmeath; if he will give an assurance that immediate action will be taken to resolve this matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to inform the Deputy that the appointment of a temporary teacher to the school in question for the 2000-01 school year was recently sanctioned. My Department has advised the board of management of the school of the position.
