Burke asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when she received the final report of the special working group on personal injury compensation; the recommendations contained in the report; when she will bring the report to Government; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 55 and 66 together.

I received the final report of the special working group on personal injury compensation in April 2000.

A draft memorandum for Government has been prepared and circulated to relevant Departments and agencies seeking observations. My Department is still awaiting a complete response to our request.

Following the receipt of observations, it is intended to bring the matter before Government as soon as possible and to publish the special working group's report at that stage.
