Eircom sought on a number of occasions in advance of the flotation to establish a management incentive scheme that would provide for extra remuneration for Eircom management based on share price performance moving forward. My position on this was that the issue of management incentives was one to be considered by the new shareholders after rather than before the flotation. I felt it would damage the flotation process to put in place a management incentive scheme prior to the flotation.
