Vol. 524 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Róisín Shortall

Ceist:

115 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will arrange for an investigation into the reason a person (details supplied) does not yet have an appointment date for an urgent operation to address a disorder in her foot; if he has satisfied himself that sufficient funds have been made available to the hospital concerned to tackle this kind of waiting list; the reason no date has yet been given; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The responsibility for the provision of services at The Children's Hospital, Temple Street, is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to her as a matter of urgency.
