Vol. 524 No. 6

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Liz McManus

Ceist:

218 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the problems relating to manning the mammography machine at Navan hospital; if he will ensure that the complement of radiographers is maintained; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23586/00]

The provision of services at Our Lady's Hospital Navan is the statutory responsibility of the North Eastern Health Board in the first instance. However, the board has informed me that due to the turnover of staff and difficulties in recruiting certain grades of staff, mammography services in Our Lady's Hospital Navan have been suspended since July 2000. The board have made arrangements for patients requiring this service to be transferred to the Blackrock Clinic.
