Vol. 524 No. 6

Written Answers. - Probation and Welfare Service.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

276 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has positively responded to a request for a meeting with a charity (details supplied) in County Clare whose purpose is to set up the first day treatment centre in Ireland for children and young adults at risk; and, if so, the date of this meeting; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23607/00]

On receipt of the request for a meeting, my Department consulted with the probation and welfare service, which has informed me that local service requirements have been assessed. The service is now making arrangements to meet the organisation to consider the usefulness of the facilities offered by it to the probation and welfare service. On completion of these discussions, my office will contact the organisation to arrange a meeting.
